This is the 'lite' version of Primus. The full version includes a mate puzzle generator, additional difficulty levels, puzzles, pieces, and boards.

Primus presents a more human-like chess engine approach catering to intermediate players (up to 2000 Elo). The engine's design aims to replicate human play qualities by introducing blunders at lower levels that are easily detectable, while demanding more strategic depth for exploiting subtle tactical and strategic mistakes at higher levels. Even at its peak performance level of around 2000 Elo, Primus occasionally mimics lapses of concentration seen in human players.

The inspiration behind creating this engine stemmed from the dissatisfaction with the dominant tactical prowess exhibited by modern chess engines. Unlike traditional engines, Primus encourages a strategic gameplay style reminiscent of human opponents, allowing room for capitalizing on occasional errors.

Two-player mode over Bluetooth/LAN
Tabletop mode for simulating a virtual chessboard on your device
Five skill levels ranging from beginner to expert (21 in full version)
Support for all orientations, ideal for iPad Smart Case or stand utilization

Selection of five puzzles and practice levels (30 in full version) for endgame practice and challenge levels
